Caterpillar Drinking from Raindrop

Description

I caught this little guy stretching out, perhaps to take a cool drink from the fresh raindrop caught in the pine needles.  The criss-crossing of the pines forms a tight mesh which catches the water, and the stiffness of the bristles help hold them in place, which is convenient for somebody in the neighbourhood looking for shelter and a drink.

I was using Fuji film 400 ISO Sensia film at handheld speeds (about 1/30 bracketed through 1/125) with my Sigma 70-300mm zoom and no filter assistance at f/5.6.  The cooled, deep colour green comes from the overcast sky (remember: shadows will take on a cool feeling with outdoor film) in combination with the tendency of Fujifilm to expose blue better than other colours.
