Description

This is a photograph of a rose taken straight on.  I took it indoors, but the light source is overcast sunlight streaming in through a glass sliding patio door that was closed.  Moreover, a thin white curtain was diffusing the light for me.  I had to take this photo, therefore, at a low shutter speed, and so I used a tripod to keep the camera steady.  I was using my Sigma 70-300mm macro zoom lens at around 200mm at nearly it’s closest focal position (approx. 0.98m).  I kept my depth of field very low, with my aperture at its widest.  My ISO was set at 100 on my digital Nikon D200.
